Peer Review Policy
Objective Review: All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process where both the reviewers and the authors are anonymous to each other. This helps ensure that the review is impartial and based solely on the quality and relevance of the research.
Reviewer Selection: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the manuscript's subject area. We strive to choose reviewers who have a proven background in the specific, relevant aspects of sports science.
Evaluation Criteria: Manuscripts are evaluated on the basis of their scientific rigor, originality, contribution to the field, clarity of presentation, and adherence to ethical guidelines.
Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to provide a constructive, comprehensive, unbiased feedback and are asked to assess the manuscript for methodological flaws, contextual accuracy, and relevance to the field.
Timeliness: Reviewers are encouraged to complete their reviews within a set timeframe (usually 2-4 weeks) to ensure timely processing of submissions. Reviewers should notify the journal promptly if they anticipate delays.
Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat the content of the manuscripts as confidential, and must not use information obtained during the peer review process for their own or any other person's or organization's advantage, or to disadvantage or discredit others.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflict of interest that could affect their objectivity. They should recuse themselves from the review process if necessary.
Feedback: At the conclusion of the review, each reviewer submits a written report with one of the following recommendations: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject. Detailed comments must support the recommendation.
Revisions: If revisions are required, the same reviewers are typically asked to verify that their concerns have been addressed before the paper is accepted for publication.
Appeal Process: Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Appeals must be based on the scientific content of the manuscript and should be directed to the editorial board for further consideration.
This peer review policy is designed to uphold the integrity and quality of research published in Innovations in Sports Science, fostering a transparent and ethical evaluation process.
