Abstract
Gender equity in sports is a critical issue that continues to challenge the sporting community worldwide. Despite significant progress in recent decades, disparities persist in access to sports participation, resources, and opportunities between male and female athletes. This abstract provides an overview of the current landscape of gender equity in sports, highlighting key areas of concern and discussing strategies for addressing these disparities. the historical context of gender inequity in sports, tracing its roots to societal attitudes and discriminatory practices that have historically marginalized female athletes. It then explores the multifaceted nature of gender disparities in sports, including differences in funding, media coverage, facilities, coaching, and leadership positions. Through a review of research findings and case studies, the abstract illustrates the pervasive impact of these disparities on female athletes' experiences and opportunities in sports.
